Wu Sun Kong strikes again

Monkey King, as mentioned in an older post, is a traditional Chinese story. Several TV series have been made on this wonderful tale, but this clip has got all my attention as apparently it is a part of the classic Chinese animation on Wu Sun Kong, The great monkey king...

Detaching myself from 75th Tynemouth Road.

It has been four years living in this house, somehow I have started feeling as though I am a piece of furniture; a chair, a lamp, a piece of crap that lies underneath the fridge and no hands have picked it up.

Actually I don't quite know what am I writing, I could start with a considerable and accurated list of people I have met in this house, just to make it worse. The list starts as Follows:

A personal Matter

A must proudly admmit a deep fascination with Japanese literature, although I have not read so many Japanese authors but a relevant bunch of them in which I ought to mention Yukio Mishima, Kobe Katsukawa and Ryunosuke Akutagawa -I came accross the latest after reading a book by Gonzalo Arango-.

"A personal matter is the story of Bird, a frustrated intellectual in a failing marriage whose utopian dream is shattered when his wife gives birth to a brain-damaged child".

I have to say that while reading the book, characters such Himiko and Bird himself remainded me some of the characters in Dostoyevsky's literature in the way in which Oe develops their personality and understands the wide variety of human condition.

"Without doubt Oe's awsome learning…

Hector Lavoe "La Voz" **

I remember clearly that day, it was Friday afternoon, my cousin had borught a LP (remember those huge black dics) in a blue cover and a typographic design on it that said "FANIA" and below it written in little letters "all stars". That day there was a big party at her friend's house, I was a little boy and I asked her about that disc, she said to me that was salsa music. At the time I did not know many things about salsa and moreover I was not even interested in it. She played the LP and told me several stories when "FANIA ALL STARS" came first to city to the stadium and made people dance since then and forever. She left our house that Friday afternoon and headed to the party promising to bring the LP on monday for I wanted to listen to it again and make a copy in a 60 MIN MAXWELL TAPE. That Friday changed my life forever, I came across the best salsa band ever, (a year later I went trhough a similar situation with the Rolling Stones and another LP th…
